Site Cabling and Connection

If your business and/or your remote locations do not have any existing infrastructure in place we can organise for all of this to be installed at the same time as your system. We can also provide cabling solutions to complement your existing infreastructure. For further details of additional PC and Server equipment, please visit our Computer and Networking website

Wireless Connections

Wireless Connections or 'Wi-Fi' (Wireless Fidelity) allow you to network computers and till terminals accross your entire workspace without the use of cables. This means a quicker, cleaner, less obstructive solution to networking. Other benefits include the ability connect to you computer network from relatively anywhere on site, without having to have designated 'network connection' points.

The connection to the network accross the workspace is split between access points. Each access point has a set distance range within which it can maintain a wireless network connection between it and the terminal. The actual distance varies depending upon the environment; Wi-Fi device manufacturers typically state both indoor and outdoor ranges to give an indication of reliable performance. Over larger distances the Wi-Fi system compensates to sustain the connection, however we ensure that enough access points are deployed to ensure a connection, these are called wireless relay / extension points.

Typical indoor ranges are 150-300 feet, but can be shorter if the building construction interferes with radio transmissions. Longer ranges are possible, but performance will degrade with distance.

Outdoor ranges are quoted up to 1000 feet from access point, but again this depends upon the environment.
